Learning to love Mondays, too

I have just recently learned to love Sundays as my best day of the week. Of course I have long learned to appreciate Sundays as the Lord's special day of rest. However, I'm an extremely loyal person. Ever since I can remember Friday has been my favorite day of the week just because I was born on a Friday and when I was a kid all my favorite TV shows were on a Friday night. haha. But with the help of our Pastor's message one Sunday, lots of prayers, my cell group to look forward to, getting to wear nicer clothes and just a bit of rest time, Sunday really has become the best day of the week for me.

So now it's time to move on to the next level: Loving Mondays, too. It is extremely excusable to dislike Mondays since there would naturally be a let down after your favorite day, wouldn't there? And after a restful weekend, too. But that would be if you had the wrong focus.

Recently God has put in my heart an excitement for Mondays. Or, on tougher weeks, a resolve to still get up joyfully on Monday mornings. Because, of course, it's still most difficult to get off my bed on those mornings.  But what with the knowledge that I've been equipped to the brim for the week-- it gives me that extra push. I can handle Monday madness! I'm excited to apply what I learned! I can't wait to see how God's hand will move throughout the week!

I want to keep seeing Mondays like what I see them currently: like staring at a blank canvass with loads of art materials. They are so full of promise. It may seem a little daunting at times but the thought that God has packed everything I need for the week is assurance enough to go ahead and step out in grace-harnessed confidence.
